The next Transition Town meeting for Cheltenham will be held on Tuesday 27th April from 7:15pm – 9:15pm, with informal networking afterwards. The venue is Room TC002A in the Teaching Centre of the Francis Close Hall Campus of the University of Gloucestershire, on Swindon Road in Cheltenham. This meeting is themed around education and young people.
Transition Towns are popping up all over the country in different areas, aiming to build local resilience and community co-operation as a practical and creative community response to climate change and to reduce our dependence on oil and fossil fuels. The Transition Network aims to inspire, encourage, support, and train communities in exploring the transition from dependence on unsustainable fossil fuels to re-localised economies. This not only helps combat dangerous climate change but also strengthens communities by helping them to live within their local resources.
