The UK’s leading interpreters of Jimi Hendrix’s music and the music of ZZ Top appear at Cirencester’s Corn Hall on Friday, September 22nd.
Voted the UK’s best blues-rock band by the readers of Blueprint Magazine, The Hamsters have been hailed as “one of Britain’s very best live bands” by Radio 2’s Bob Harris.
Performing their own material alongside classics from Jimi Hendrix and Z.Z. Top, the band have appeared in concert and interviews on Radio 1, Radio 2 and MTV.
Band members have performed with artists such as Eric Clapton, Alison Moyet, Doctor Feelgood, Walter Trout and Alexis Korner.
The level of musicianship is superb. They have “the tightest rhythm section in the business”, say Blueprint magazine, and guitarist Slim has recently been voted one of the top 100 guitarists of all time in a radio poll on LBC.
Put simply, The Hamsters have “a rhythm section that most bands would sell their mothers for, and a guitarist who gives you the whole history of rock and blues in two hours”, says Kerrang magazine.
Cotswold District Council Events Officer Rik Husdan said: “The Hamsters are veterans of more than 3,000 performances. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience an evening of blistering blues-rock with fantastic re-creations of Jimi Hendrix and ZZ Top hits.”
Tickets for the 8.15pm event, priced £10 in advance and £12 on the door, are available from Cirencester Tourist Information on 01285 654180 or Swindon Tourist Information Centre 01793 530328
