Two Hand Grenades Found In North Cotswolds

Police in the North Cotswolds called in a bomb disposal unit this afternoon after two hand grenades were found at separate locations in the county.

At approximately 12.50pm this afternoon, Tuesday April 7, Police received a report that a resident had found what is thought to be a British World War II hand grenade as they cleared out a barn in Foxcote.

Coincidently, Police received a second similar call at approximately 1.30pm reporting that a hand grenade had been found at the back of a shed in Rissington Road, Bourton-on-the-Water.

Both were removed and safely disposed of by the bomb disposal unit.

Police urge anyone who finds a similar item not to touch the object but to call Police right away.
