Free Fun Day at Fairford Leisure
Things were a lot different in1990 John Major was Prime Minister, Liverpool were the predominant football team in Britain, and Unchained Melody topped the charts for weeks on end. But one thing hasnt changed since opening its doors in May 1990, Cotswold Leisure Fairford has offered excellent fitness facilities at good value prices and it is celebrating its 20th anniversary this month with a free activity day for all ages.
The leisure centre is throwing open its doors to the public on Saturday 22nd May, and is offering a wide range of activities free of charge from 10 am to 4 pm. Visitors will be invited to try gym taster sessions, a family roller disco, fitness classes, professional sports coaching and much more. They will also be able to sign up to a special 20th anniversary membership promotion for only 19.90 they will receive 5 weeks gym membership and, while stocks last, a free gym bag too.
David Durston, the Health and Fitness Manager at Cotswold District Council, commented: "We wanted to find a fun way of thanking the people of Fairford for their custom over the years, and we hope that this 20th anniversary day will also tempt some newcomers to get the fitness bug. Gym taster sessions will be available throughout the day for those who wish to try before they buy. We are hoping to tempt at least 20 visitors to sign up."
