Mums take the plunge for 1

Mums and female carers for children under 16 can now swim for only 1 at West Oxfordshires leisure centres.

Carterton, Chipping Norton and Windrush leisure centres are all participating in the promotion.

The promotion is being offered as part of the Active Women programme, in partnership with GLL Better who manages the leisure centres on behalf of West Oxfordshire District Council.

After completing five swims, participants are also eligible for a discount if they join the Leisure Centre on either a prepaid membership or a pay-as-you-go membership.

Cllr Richard Langridge, Cabinet Member for Communities, said: This is a really great offer and we hope lots of women take advantage of it, especially as reports, carried out by the Active Women programme, suggest that women across all age groups display the lowest amount of physical activity.

A crche is available at each leisure centre where children can stay for up to three hours for 3.35.

The offer ends in October 2013. All five swims must be completed within one month to be eligible for the discounted membership.
