Young bands needed for new talent showcase
The search is on for the youngest of Cirencester and Fairford's talented bands to take part in a brand new showcase event at the Corn Hall.
Nuborn will feature groups whose members are aged between 10 and 16, giving them an opportunity to play live to a large audience.
Now Cotswold District Council is appealing to bands who fit the picture to send in a CD or tape of their music to be considered for the event. The closing date for all audition tapes is December 22.
The Fairford bands will get the chance to perform at the Corn Hall, Cirencester, on Sunday, January 15, while Cirencester bands will play at the second Nuborn event on Sunday, January 29.
Senior Events Officer Claire Newport said: These events follow on from Unborn, our regular successful showcase nights for new local bands. We wanted to give musicians and singers aged between 10 and 16 the same opportunity. We know there are loads of younger talented bands out there, playing in schools and youth clubs. Whether you play pop, funk, metal, rock or indie, were waiting to hear from you.
Parental permission will be required to play at the concert if your band is selected. For further information, please call Claire Newport or Rik Husdan on 01285 623451.
