Woodstock's outdoor heated pool reopens for summer on Saturday 22

Woodstock's outdoor heated swimming pool reopens for summer on Saturday 22 April.

With a 25 metre main pool and a depth of 3.5 metres, it is ideal for diving enthusiasts and there is a separate paddling pool for younger children.

The pool in Shipton Road is owned by West Oxfordshire District Council and run by its leisure contractor GLL Better. It is available for private hire and swimming lessons and will be open until September. Almost 11,000 people used the facility last year.

Paul Shearman, GLL Better Partnership Manger for West Oxfordshire, said: The fact the outdoor pool is heated means we get lots of visitors whatever the weather and have thousands of people coming along to swim or make the most of the surroundings every year.

Family and season tickets are now available from local Better Leisure Centres. For more information call Windrush Leisure Centre up to 22 April on 01993 202020 and afterwards Woodstock Open Air Pool on 01993 811785.

Woodstock is one of two open-air pools in West Oxfordshire. The second is The Lido at Chipping Norton, a community-run facility which opened on 13 April. For more information see www.chippylido.co.uk or call 01608 643188.
