Cheltenham Town out of the FA Cup

Cheltenham Town's hopes of proceeding to the next round of the FA Cup were dashed today (Saturday 20th January) when they lost 2-0 at home to Premiership side Newcastle United.

Newcastle scored two goals in the last five minutes of the first half, the first from Michael Chopra on 41 minutes and the second from Scott Parker just two minutes later.

Cheltenham boss John Ward said "We've been dignified, played well and given people a different perception of Cheltenham - the players can be very proud"
