Bourton on the Water visitor centre saved

The Bourton on the Water Visitor Information Centre that was threatened with closure looks to have been saved. The centre was due to shut before summer 2006 after council bosses said it would save 60,000.

It is reported that the Bourton on the Water Chamber of Commerce has stepped in deciding that Bourton on the Water could not do without it.

Under the plans Cotswold District Council will retain ownership of the building occupied by the Bourton Visitor Information Centre while the centre itself will be run by the Chamber.
