Moreton in Marsh market management upbeat

The Stratford-on-Avon Herald reports that the management of the Moreton-in-Marsh market have rebutted criticism over the market's apparent decline. The report says that they have reassured traders and customers that it remains one of the most successful in the area despite a national downturn.

Traders at the Gloucestershire market are reported to have claimed that numbers of visitors, stalls and profits are down more than in past winters.

The market executive for the company which runs the market, Grenchurch, said that all markets had suffered in recent years from the threat of new cut-price stores.
