Two Injured in Barnsley Crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after two motorists were injured in a crash on the B4425 near Barnsley during the afternoon of Monday February 13.

The collision, which occurred at around 12.50pm, involved a blue and grey Rover 214 and a black Volvo V40 estate.

Following the crash the driver of the Volvo, a 53 year-old woman from Cirencester, was taken to Cirencester hospital suffering from minor injuries.

The driver of the Rover, a 73 year-old woman from Ampney Crucis, had to be cut free from the vehicle by the fire service.

She was airlifted to Frenchay hospital in Bristol suffering from injuries that included a broken leg and a broken sternum.

Her injuries are not considered life threatening and she is currently in a stable condition.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call Gloucestershire police on 0845 090 1234, quoting incident 236 of February 13.
