Birthday Gala at Blenheim Palace

It is reported that The Duke of Marlborough is planning a special birthday party for 250 80-year-olds at Blenheim Palace.

The Queen hosted a special Lunch in April at Buckingham Palace for 99 pensioners who, like her, turned 80 on April 21st 2006.

Now The Duke, who was 80 on April 13th 2006, looks set to follow the Queen's example by inviting new octogenarians to join him at Blenheim Palace in Woodstock on Saturday, July 8th.

So the Duke initially wants to hear from other Oxfordshire pensioners who have recently had, or are about to celebrate, 80th birthdays.

The invitation is initially being extended to all Oxfordshire octogenarians born between January 1st and July 8th 1926, special priority being given to shose sharing the Duke's birhday.

This story was reported by the Oxford Mail website on 12th May 2006.
