Purse stolen from woman in Chipping Campden

Police are appealing to the public for information after an elderly woman had her purse stolen from her home in Chipping Campden earlier this month.

During the afternoon of Wednesday August 9 two men claiming to be door-to-door salesmen called at the home of the 88 year-old woman in Back Ends, Chipping Campden.

The woman bought a number of items from the men who then left the area.

The following day, during the morning, one of the men returned and attempted to sell the woman further items, but he left after she refused to buy anything.

Later that day the woman found that her purse, containing 80 cash, 100 worth of Euros and four credit cards, had been stolen from her property.

The offenders have been described as white males aged between 21 and 25.

One was 5ft 7ins tall with a slim build and dark brown, straight short hair. He was clean-shaven and wore dark clothing, possibly a tracksuit, and carried a black canvas holdall.

The second male was around 5ft tall and had dark brown hair.

Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to contact police on 0845 090 1234, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting incident number 576 of August 11.
