WOW Weekend set to 'spook' West Oxon residents

A spine tingling theatrical ghost trail through old Burford is one of this year's new offers for the West Oxfordshire Weekend (WOW) on the 23rd and 24th September.

The special WOW weekend offers free or discounted entry for West Oxfordshire residents to local attractions. Cogges Manor Farm Museum, Blenheim Palace and the Cotswold Wildlife Park are just some of the 18 tourist and leisure attractions which are taking part.

The Weekend also encourages residents to get active, have fun and get fit with not only swimming for �1 but also squash, badminton, table tennis, basket ball and court soccer among the special offers at the council-owned leisure centres.

Cllr Tony Walker, Cabinet Member for Leisure and Tourism said, "This weekend is the Tourism and Leisure industry�s way of saying thank you to local people for welcoming the thousands of visitors we get every year. I hope that many people will take advantage of these offers and visit some of the wonderful places that are here on our doorstep."

To take advantage of the special offers, residents need a WOW Pass. These are free from Visitor Information Centres and at Carterton and Chipping Norton Leisure Centres or can be requested online at www.westoxon.gov.uk. Alternatively you can call the WOW hotline on 01993 861565.
