Man assaulted in Fairford

Police are appealing for witnesses after an assault outside a pub in Fairford resulted in a man sustaining a broken jaw and a badly cut eye.

The man, who comes from Lechlade, had become involved in an argument involving several people outside the Vortex Inn in Cirencester Road, Fairford, at around 12.10am in the morning of Saturday September 9.

The argument developed into a scuffle, during which the victim was assaulted by an unknown assailant.

Following the attack the man was taken to Great Western Hospital for treatment.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact Fairford police on 0845 090 12434, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting incident number 30 of September 9.
