Two Injured In Crash Near Westonbirt

Gloucestershire Police are appealing for witnesses to a two-vehicle road traffic collision that occurred on the A433 at Westonbirt during the morning of Tuesday October 10.

The crash, between a red BMW 318 and a white Vauxhall Corsa van, happened at around 6.45am approximately one mile past the Westonbirt Arboretum, towards Chipping Sodbury.

Following the incident the male driver of the Corsa was taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath for treatment to minor injuries.

The male driver of the BMW, who comes from Bristol, was taken to Frenchay hospital in Bristol with internal injuries. He is currently in a serious condition.

The A433 was closed for approximately two and-a-half hours following the crash while police carried out an investigation at the scene and the vehicles involved were removed.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call Gloucestershire police on 0845 090 1234 quoting incident number 53 of October 10.
