Stow pub wins community pub award

The Queen's Head Inn in Stow-on-the-Wold has won the Whitby Breaded Scampi Great British Pub Challenge, run in association with The Publican.

The pub licensees John and Bate receive a certificate and 1,000 to be used for the benefit of the local community.

As part of the competition The Queen's Head put on a seaside-themed event at which the pub had to include Whitby Scampi as part of the menu.

Joint runners-up in the competition were the Chequers Inn, in Laddingford, Kent, and the Blacksmiths Arms in Lastingham, Yorkshire.
