Renewed appeal for witnesses - Witney
Detectives in Witney are renewing their appeal for two people to come forward who are believed to have a helped a woman in distress last Thursday (22/02).
A 20-year-old woman with a broken wrist attended Witney police station on Friday (23/02) evening reporting that she could not remember the events leading up to the injury.
A woman in a car is believed to have stopped to help her, around 6pm close to the Roman Villa near North Leigh. The woman driver is believed to have called an ambulance for the woman. She is described as white, aged 50-55, with short dark brown hair and round glasses with black frames. She drove a light green car that looked like a small people carrier. A jogger, a man with an American accent, may also have stopped to assist.
An ambulance arrived and took the woman to the John Radcliffe Hospital where she was treated for a broken wrist.
Detectives investigating are still trying to ascertain if a crime has occurred. They need to speak to the woman who stopped and called the ambulance and the jogger to help with inquires as the woman can still not remember what happened to her.
