Four Arrested After Police Pursuit
Police have arrested four males after a burglary in Bourton on the Water during the evening of Wednesday May 2 resulted in a police pursuit that ended in Cheltenham.
At approximately 11.10pm a red Subaru Impreza, stolen from an address in Fairford between April 21-22, rammed a police car in Station Road, Bourton on the Water.
Officers began a pursuit of the vehicle, following it to the Northleach roundabout then along the A40 into Cheltenham.
The pursuit continued on roads in and around the town for approximately 30 minutes during which time the Impreza was stung twice by police units.
The Constabulary's Mitsubishi Evo vehicle and the police helicopter were also involved in the pursuit.
The incident ended when the Impreza stopped in Hudson Street, Cheltenham, and four males got out.
Three of the males, a 14 year-old, a 17 year-old and a 16 year-old, all from Cheltenham, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of the aggravated taking of a vehicle without consent and burglary.
A fourth male, aged 17 and from Cheltenham, was arrested at an address in Manser Street a short time later for the same offences.
All four remain in police custody at this time.
During the course of the pursuit a cash till, believed to have been thrown from the Impreza, was recovered by police.
The till is believed to have been taken in a burglary that occurred during the evening of Wednesday May 2 at an ice cream kiosk in Station Road, Bourton on the Water.
This incident is being investigated by detectives working on Operation Trawler, the Constabulary's operation targeting thefts of high performance vehicles.
