Jeremy Clarkson helps raise funds for Chippy Lido

Jeremy Clarkson helps raise funds for Chippy Lido

Jeremy Clarkson moved some "top gear" on Friday when he was auctioneer at Chipping Norton Town Hall to raise funds for Chipping Norton Lido.

"Thanks to Jeremy Clarkson we had another superb auction on Friday night at the Town Hall in Chipping Norton. Over 200 people attended to see him on top form wringing out every last Pound possible. None of this would have been possible, of course, without the donations from our generous sponsors or indeed the people who came along, bought tickets, raffle prizes and bid for lots.

The 99 lots made us a staggering total of 21,827 and with door money and raffle ticket sales we'll have made around 24,500. This will make a huge difference as this is the amount of the annual subsidy withdrawn from the pool three years ago.

As ever, thank you so much for your support we really do appreciate it."
