Cotswold DC To Tackle Ring Road Litter

Contractors will get to work as soon as possible to clear up litter and grass cuttings on the Cirencester ring road.

Litter was exposed last week (May 16th) when Gloucestershire County Council workers cut grass on the verges and central reservations of the roads.

Cotswold District Council contractors will start picking up the rubbish and mechanically sweeping the road on June 4th.

Waste Manager Scott Williams said: "We started to organise the clear-up as soon as we were informed that the grass-cutting was going to take place. June 4th is the soonest we can get on to the ring road because we have to give the Highways Authority three weeks notice ahead of any lane closure."
