Paraglider Pilot Dies in Collision

Shortly after 8.30pm on Monday June 11th the emergency services were called to Chavenage Green, near Tetbury, Gloucestershire, following reports of a collision involving a paraglider.

The paraglider was being piloted by a male taking part in an organised competition.

Sadly, the pilot was seriously injured during the collision and, despite the efforts of paramedics, was declared dead at the scene.

An investigation into the cause of the collision has begun and the Coroner and Air Accident Investigation Board have both been informed, as have the pilot's immediate family.

Any witnesses to this incident or anyone who has video footage, but has not yet spoken to police, should ring 0845 090 1234 quoting incident number 552 of June 11th.
