Flooding update from Cotswold District Council

Chipping Campden rest centre now CLOSED - small number evacuees rehoused by our volunteer service People For You

35 people being put up for the night at the Fire Service College, Moreton in Marsh, including 9 residents of an elderly persons' home

Situation in Cotswolds under control at 8pm but we are on stand by to open rest centres if needs be.

The Cotswold Leisure Centre in Cirencester is completely closed until further notice as the plant room is flooded.

Urging people on the Thames floodplain to take notice of flood warnings being issued.

We have no sandbags - please advise people to call builders merchants' - although they have also reported stocks running low

We will be re-opening our switchboard at 9am tomorrow - 01285 623000 - for general advice re: clean up/env health issues etc. In the meantime, if you call an ansafone message will give our out of hours emergency number.
