Wild beavers to be released near South Cerney

Six European Beavers from Bavaria are to be released at Lower Mill Estate, near South Cerney, in an effort to reintroduce them to the UK 500 years after they became extinct here.
The Beavers will be the first to roam wild in the UK for centuries.
To start with, the Beavers will be confined to a 500-acre site but at a later date experts hope they can roam freely.
The European Beaver does not eat fish so it should not deplete fish stocks in rivers
