Second Floor Fair Was a Resounding Success
The second Flood Protection Products Fair proved a big success after over 200 people flocked to Bourton-on-the-Water on Friday May 16th.
The Fair jointly hosted by Cotswold District Council, the Environment Agency and the National Flood Forum was the second event to take place in the Cotswolds and offered residents practical advice and information to tackle flooding and build resilience.
Representatives from 16 companies, selling products including synthetic sandbags, pumping systems, flood doors and air bricks, were on hand to discuss their products.
Practical advice was also offered by the three Cotswold District Council staff who attended the event, as well as the EA and the National Flood Forum.
The event lasted from 2.30pm until 7pm and followed on from the first event at Cirencesters Bingham Hall on March 28th.
Cllr Clive Bennett, Cotswold District Councils Portfolio holder for Safe and Strong Communities, said: I was delighted that so many people turned up and they all went away with some valuable information on how to protect yourself and your home from flooding.
It was all very impressive I just hope that whatever they discovered at the event will never need to be used.
