Get Sporty With Council's Coaching Sessions

Sports coaching sessions designed to get children fighting fit and feeling confident are on your doorstep this summer, thanks to The Sports Club.

Daily doses of sport coaching are being hosted across the Cotswolds by a dedicated team, who offer a wide range of sports at different venues for children from 5-16 years old.

The scheme, set up by Cotswold District Council in 2005, offers children a safe yet fun and friendly environment where they can take part in over 15 different sports, including football, cricket, golf, rugby, boxing and tennis.

The courses – sponsored by local garage Lyefield Ford in Love Lane – are held at a range of locations around the District, at one of the five Council-run leisure centres. They are also being held at schools, local sports clubs or playing fields, and all sessions run from 9.30am to 3pm.

The Sports Club team are all qualified at various levels of sport coaching, and have First Aid and Child Protection training. A daily fee of £10 applies per session, or £5 if you sign up for club membership, which costs £20.

Please contact the Council’s Youth Sports Development Officer Scott Burry on 01285 623447 for more information.
