Priory Inn makes it into Good Beer Guide 2009

CAMRA The Campaign for Real Ale have published their 2009 guidebook featuring the best 4,500 real ale pubs and Tetbury's The Priory Inn has achieved a highly sought-after listing.

The Priory Inn - the family-friendly, award-winning gastro-inn has achieved a highly sought-after and unique listing for Tetbury in CAMRA's Good Beer Guide 2009.

Despite many pubs struggling in today's economic climate and research showing that 57 pubs permanently close every month across Britain, this year's Good Beer Guide highlights that the UK real ale pub scene is thriving.

The Priory Inn owner Dave Kelly said The countryside surrounding Tetbury provides great scope for serving high quality ale and it is a good feeling to be recognised by the CAMRA members who place so much value on well-kept beer. We are very proud of our relationships with the local breweries and take great delight in shared future successes. In today's climate it is not enough to just open your doors and expect customers to walk through them. At The Priory Inn we have recognised for many years that our service, food and drink needs to be something particularly special to remain ahead and we aim to continue to maintain our standards beyond customer expectations.

Pubs are surveyed by local CAMRA members and scored on a variety of aspects that make a great pub. These include customer service, the clientele mix (i.e the pub appeals to 18 and 80 year olds), value for money, dcor and of course the quality of the real ale. CAMRA members therefore guarantee to supply their reader with the most up-to-date publication to help locate the best pint of real ale.

The launch of the Good Beer Guide 2009 coincides with Tetbury's Food and Drink Festival, which celebrates the wealth of food and drink available in the local area between 24th 28th September. The Priory Inn is offering an evening of local drinks tasting with the opportunity to try the best local ales as well as cider, wine and local liqueurs from 7pm on Thursday 25th September.

The management team behind The Priory boasts years of hospitality experience between them, working in and launching high profile hotel and restaurant establishments in New York, London and Hertfordshire.

The Priory Inn is situated in Tetbury, a beautiful market town in the heart of the Cotswolds which is one of the most important antiques centres in the UK. It is 2 miles from the Royal home of Highgrove. The hotel has 14 ensuite contemporary bedrooms.
