Tenders invited for Enterprise Centre
West Oxfordshire District Council is inviting proposals from organisations setting out how they would develop and run a 'state of the art' Enterprise Centre in Chipping Norton. A potential grant of £240,000 is available in return.
The Centre will provide facilities to meet the demands of business in the 21st century. It will provide space for people to run their businesses from, stimulating economic and employment growth in and around Chipping Norton. It is likely the Centre will include both offices and open plan areas, available on very flexible terms ranging from monthly licenses to hourly rates. It will also deliver “virtual” business services including a professional reception service for people not physically based in the Centre.
West Oxfordshire District Council is managing the tendering process as a member of The Chipping Norton Town Partnership. The Partnership is made up of a range of organisations with a shared commitment to supporting Chipping Norton and including the Town Council, Oxfordshire County Council, Chipping Norton School, business and community representatives.
Simon Duffy, Chipping Norton School Headmaster chairs the Partnership. He said, "We have been working towards the development of an Enterprise Centre for a long time. Having a place like this in Chipping Norton would be a fantastic asset for the town. I am delighted that the Partnership is now in a position to seek proposals."
Further information and tender documents are available from William Barton, the District Council's Business Development Officer on 01993 861482. Details are also at www.westoxon.gov.uk/business. Closing date for receipt of tenders is 12 noon on Friday 19th December 2008.
