A taste of the Caribbean in Bourton!

Bourton Vale Cricket Club launch their fundraising programme to build a new clubhouse

This month sees the launch of a programme of fundraising events at Bourton Vale Cricket Club to raise funds for a new clubhouse. The Cricket Club Social Committee have organised a number of events to entertain and delight cricket fans whilst at the same time raising funds for the Club.

The programme kicks off with a six-a-side tournament on Sunday 12th July, this event will have a Caribbean theme, with sand, sea and hopefully sun. There will be Caribbean music, food for sale and the bar will be open whilst the teams compete in the competition. Doors open at 10.30 and an early arrival is recommended to bag a place by the pool!

This event is then followed by Cricket Week, daily matches at the Club culminating in a live band and paella evening on Friday 17th of July. Blairz Sprogs will be playing on a Hacklings lorry from 7.30pm onwards. Food is included in the ticket price of 10 and the bar will be open. Children can attend for free, burgers will be for sale for those who arent keen on paella.

The original Clubhouse built in 1883, is in drastic need of modernisation and the Committee have already drawn up plans for the new clubhouse. At least 250K will be needed to complete the project of which the Club needs to raise 50%.

Bourton Vale Cricket Club, is situated on Rissington Road, Bourton-on-the-Water (opposite Birdland). All spectators are welcome and the bar is always open! Please visit the website to see details of further events: www.bourtonvalecc.co.uk.
