Woodstock pool set to reopen for summer

Woodstocks heated outdoor pool opens for the summer season on Saturday 22nd May.

The pool has undergone essential maintenance works in preparation for the re-opening. Carey James, Partnership Manager for Nexus Community, which runs the pool on behalf of West Oxfordshire District Council, said: We wanted to be sure that the Pool is both safe and in tip-top condition for the new season. As it is heated to a pleasant 29 degrees, we are always very busy, whatever the weather. Last year we had over 10,000 visitors.

The 25m pool in Shipton Road, Woodstock, is set in a grassed area. The deep end of the main pool has a diving board and a depth of 3.5m, so it is an ideal place for diving enthusiasts. There is a separate paddling pool for toddlers and very young children. The changing rooms have modern showers and there are disabled facilities. The pool is also open for private hire and swimming lessons.

Entrance costs range from 2.90 for juniors to 5.60 for adults for a full afternoon. Family and season tickets are available for regular users. The pool will remain open for the summer season until 5th September.

Anyone wanting further information can visit www.nexuscommunity.org or call the pool on 01993 811785.
