Competition to find best photos of West Oxon

Residents are being given the chance to win photographic equipment by sending special images of West Oxfordshire to the District Council.

The Councils tourism team is looking for images that capture West Oxfordshire, from panoramic views to action shots, images of market towns or villages, wildlife or people simply enjoying the local area.

One winner will be picked to win a Manfrotto 190xDB tripod and head, and Lowepro Versapack 200 AW backpack, donated by Morris Photographic Centre in Chipping Norton, www.morrisphoto.co.uk.

It is possible that a selection of the images will feature in the 2011 Oxfordshire Cotswolds Visitor Guide, which the Council produces to promote the area worldwide.

Cllr Richard Langridge, Cabinet Member for Local Economy and Communities, said: West Oxfordshire is a beautiful part of England and we have a dedicated tourism team that works to promote the area and encourage tourism. We would like some really striking images that best represent West Oxfordshire to help us to show what a wonderful place it is to visit and live. We are very grateful for the donated prizes which we hope will encourage people to send in their photos. We cant wait to see them!

Local residents, including amateurs, club members or professional photographers, are invited to send in up to a maximum of six photos. Closing date for entries is Monday 2nd August.
