Childrens Cake Baking classes launched in Bourton

Sophie Browne, of Sophies Baked Delights is delighted to announce the dates for her series of Childrens Bakery Courses run from her kitchen in Bourton on the Water.

The first set of courses will be run during summer half term 31st May, 2nd and 3rd of June with others scheduled for the summer holidays. They will cater for children aged between 7-11. For those with little or no experience is an introductory course in basic cake making that starts with the classic Victoria Sponge recipe which can be adapted to a variety of flavours. Once this is mastered they will move onto fatless sponge and create a scrumptious Chocolate Swiss Roll with Chocolate Butter Cream filling. All Cake creations will be boxed and sent home along with recipes and full instructions for home baking.

For those with more baking experience, Sophie runs Cupcake baking classes and another course entitled Chocolate Heaven where the children will be making Chocolate Squidgy Cake and Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Sophie said; I was brought up baking my own cakes from an early age and have always had great fun cooking. Children can benefit hugely from learning basic baking skills as they are fun, fairly simple to master and the results of their efforts arrive relatively quickly along with a huge sense of accomplishment! Gaining skills like these provide a great foundation to build on and our classes are proving very popular.

All courses are run in the morning from 9.30am to 12pm, cake will be provided along with a hot or cold drink during the class.
