Explore the delights of Medieval stained glass at the Corinium MuseumWant to know more about the art of medieval stained glass? The Corinium Museum welcomes Avis Lloyd, medieval specialist, at 7 pm on Thursday 28 June for the last evening lecture in the present series before a summer break.Medieval stained glass is one of the most evocative art forms to survive from the Middle Ages. It is intrinsically beautiful in its own right and the iconography it contains offers a fascinating glimpse into the beliefs of men and women living at that time. With examples from the 12th century to the end of the Medieval period, this lecture explores some of the most interesting examples of stained glass in England. Avis Lloyd is a freelance lecturer in Medieval art and architecture and has lectured regularly at the Corinium Museum (Cirencester) for the past four years. She runs a range of courses for adults in both subjects, ranging from the early Medieval period to the 16th century. Tonight's lecture is part of her Art and Design in the Late Medieval Church series and is a popular and fascinating subject. The admission cost is �5.65 for adults and �5 for annual season ticket holders. Lectures run from 7-8.30 pm with time for questions.
