New Shop in Stow

Cotswold Volunteers have opened a new shop in Church Street, Stow-on-the-Wold. The shop will offer great bargains, volunteering opportunities, community wall space and links with the local community.

Cotswold Volunteers is a charitable organisation set up to promote volunteering and to help disadvantaged people live life as fully as possible with the help of volunteers. This is the charitys fourth shop in the Cotswolds. The shops provide vital funds for the work of the charity as well as acting as community hubs.

The shop is looking for volunteers to join its friendly team. No previous skills are required as full training will be given. Josh, who volunteers says,
I have been working at a Cotswold Volunteers charity shop for the past six months, and it has been a great experience. It has given me the chance to learn invaluable skills in a friendly environment whilst also providing an important service for the local community. The staff are very welcoming and everyone gets on well which makes it a fun place to work. Says Josh.

As a volunteer you have to use a variety of skills, from communicating with customers and working with people of a variety of ages, to decision making about pricing and displays. This means that no two days are ever the same and there is always something to do. Everyone is highly valued and you get to have a input into the decision making process, and it is all done in the name of a great cause making it very rewarding.

So if you can spare some time to support your local community dont hesitate to volunteer! The shop is also looking for donations of unwanted items.

If you would like to get involved with the Cotswold Volunteer shop in Stow just call into the shop in Church Street or contact Cotswold Volunteers on 01285 651246, email [email protected]
