Cotswold District runners raised almost 9,000 for Sport Relief

Staff at Cotswold District Councils dual leisure facilities in Bourton, Chipping Campden, Faiford and Tetbury have just learned that events they staged in the Spring to support Sport Relief have raised almost 9,000.

Each facility staged a Sport Relief mile event over the weekend of 24 and 25 March and, collectively, they attracted 405 participants and raised 8,901 for the charity.

Group Manager Alan Reid was very pleased when the grand total was announced:

It was a great day and everyone seemed to have a lot of fun - I dont think Ive seen so many people in silly costumes in one place. Some participants ran a lot further than a mile because we provided three and six mile circuits too, and I am grateful to everyone who made these events so special.
