Record numbers for Cheltenham Science Festival

Record numbers flocked to Cheltenham Science Festival last week (5-10 June) to explore the wonders of science. There were over 45,000 visits from people of all ages taking part in six free interactive zones in the tented Festival Village, Cheltenham Town Hall and around the streets and bars of Cheltenham.

The Festival also hosted over 150 talks and workshops from leading scientists and presenters on topics ranging from the latest developments in artificial intelligence and brain research to the science of Marvel.

Festival Facts for 2018
� Over 43,000 tickets issued
� Over 45,000 visits to the free interactive zones and �around town
� 6,474 pupils and 865 staff from 90 schools visited the Festival this year � from as far afield as Bristol, Bromsgrove, Coventry and Chippenham
� The MakerShack�s Slime Factory produced over 140 litres of slime
