Search on for photographs capturing West Oxon Life

Residents are being given the chance to win a meal and spa treatment at a Witney leisure resort by sending special images of West Oxfordshire to the District Council.

The Councils tourism team is looking for photographs that capture West Oxfordshire, from action shots to local produce, wildlife to market towns or people simply enjoying the local area.

A selection of photographs will be chosen by the tourism team and could be used in publicity promoting West Oxfordshire to tourists and visitors worldwide.

One photographer will be picked to win a one-hour spa treatment for two, followed by dinner, kindly donated by Witney Lakes Resort, www.witney-lakes.co.uk.

Cllr Richard Langridge, Cabinet Member for Local Economy and Communities, said: West Oxfordshire is a beautiful part of England and has lots to offer to visitors. We want photographs that really encapsulate this and are very grateful to Witney Lakes Resort for donating a great incentive for people to get involved.

Our tourism team works hard to promote the area and we already have more than four million visitors to the District every year. It is vital that we continue this work to not only maintain, but hopefully increase, tourism as it is very important to our local economy.

Local residents, including amateurs, club members or professional photographers, are invited to take part in the competition. Closing date for entries is Friday 29 April.

For further information and a competition entry form is available from the Oxfordshire Cotswolds website, www.oxfordshirecotswolds.org/photos, or by calling 01993 861553.
