Nominations sought for Fairford Town Council post

Nominations are being sought for the post of Fairford Town Councillor for the Fairford Ward. This vacancy has arisen due to the recent resignation of Mr Joseph Cusack.

The Notice of Election was published on Cotswold District Council�s website (www.cotswold.gov.uk) on Wednesday 30 May, and states that nominations must reach the Council by a deadline of noon on Thursday 15 June.

Nomination paper packs are available from CDC�s Electoral Services Office. To receive a copy, please contact them, either by telephone on 01285 623002 or by e-mail at [email protected]. Alternatively, a pack can be obtained by visiting the Council�s Electoral offices at Trinity Road, Cirencester, GL7 1 PX, on Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (excluding bank holidays) or from the Fairford Town Council Office, Community Centre, High Street, Fairford, GL7 4AH.

If this election is contested, the poll will take place on Thursday, 12 July.

Should there be an election, the Council is reminding the public that applications to register for voting and applications for postal votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Trinity Road by Wednesday, 27 June. Applications to vote by proxy must be received by Wednesday, 4 July.
